Combining short handles with a detachable or adjustable long strap gives the same tote bag multiple carrying options — useful when a brand wants one bag to work for different situations and users.

A long strap can change a basic canvas tote from a hand-carry bag into a shoulder or crossbody bag. A long strap canvas tote bag does not necessarily need to be used crossbody — the final carrying position depends on strap length, handle drop, bag dimensions, and attachment construction.

Kyuri does not use one fixed strap length for every tote bag. Strap length can be customized according to:

For shoulder carry, the strap can be designed with an appropriate drop to provide comfortable space between the bag and the user's shoulder. For crossbody use, a longer or adjustable strap can be developed according to the bag size and intended wearing position.

Strap Width
Narrower straps create a lighter, more minimalist appearance; wider straps provide a more substantial feel for larger or heavier bags. The appropriate width depends on bag size, expected load, carrying method, strap material, and overall bag design.

Handle Drop
The distance between the top edge of the tote bag and the lowest point of the handle or strap. A shorter drop suits hand carry; a longer drop provides more room for shoulder carrying. For crossbody bags, length and construction can be adjusted for the desired carrying position.

The strap material can be matched to the canvas body or deliberately chosen as a contrasting design element.
